Are you looking for a laid back community of horse lovers, that don't judge one another, and want the best for their horses and each other? Welcome to Big Sky Farm!
I have been taking care of horses for over 20 years and have spent many years responsible for Grand Prix level horses worth hundreds of thousands of dollars. As a former equine veterinary assistant I understand how to prevent equine problems, feed horses correctly and with high quality forage, can administer minor veterinary care when necessary, and I treat every horse as if it were my own. There are limited stalls available, but most horses are turned out 24 hours due to the scientifically proven increased health benefits associated with 24 hour turn out.
What comes with boarding?

Horses have 24 hour access to run-in sheds in outdoor turnout

Horses are fed 24/7 out of covered exceptional quality round bales

Stalls and run in sheds are cleaned daily and laid with fresh shavings

Daily paddock clean out

Grained twice daily

All horses are under 24 hour surveillance so I am aware at all times of how they are doing

I began boarding with Jamie at Big Sky Farm in 2021. I was looking for a quiet and safe place to keep my newly retired jumper, Willie. I have managed and taught at several hunter/jumper farms along the east coast and I have always taken care of Willie myself for the 12 years that I’ve owned him. A career change and pregnancy forced me to allow someone else to care for Willie and I was nervous to say the least! Jamie’s farm came highly recommended by a trusted friend and we have happily been here for two years now! I never worry about my accident prone guy because Jamie is always quick to update me on whatever trouble, big or small, he has gotten himself into. Jamie is very knowledgeable and always knows what to do. She gives me peace of mind that my guy is always well cared for. I even bought another pony for my youngest daughter to learn to ride on and my oldest daughter takes beginner lessons on Jamie’s wonderful horse Ziggy. My oldest daughter wasn’t enjoying lessons at a different farm, but she loves Jamie and Ziggy. Jamie is so patient and kind with her instruction and Ziggy is so easy going. Her farm is truly the only drama-free farm I have encountered. Everyone is so kind and I am so happy to have my two horses here at Big Sky!
